BCE/ Lagarde: "rates will not rise unless unexpected shocks"

Milan - Christine Lagarde, the President of the European Central Bank, said in an interview with France 2 TV that she believes interest rates will not continue to rise unless there are further shocks or unexpected data. She also noted that if the fight against inflation is won and it is certain that inflation will be at 2 per cent, then interest rates will start to go down. (mem-lf-mm)
