MILANO ART WEEK/ BiM inaugurates new spaces with two exhibitions inspired by Robert Rauschenberg
BiM, a work destination under development in the heart of Bicocca, is opening its newly renovated spaces to the public on April 2 at Viale Pirelli 10. To mark the occasion, BiM presents two exhibitions inspired by the American artist Robert Rauschenberg.
The exhibitions, Open Score and Le luci e gli amanti, explore the collective and interdisciplinary art concept in line with the artist'sartist's vision. Curated by Nicola Ricciardi and produced by EX., the exhibition Open Score – on view until April 27 – is inspired by "among friends," a concept dear to Rauschenberg. It is designed as a total artwork that blends music, visual art, and poetry. The installation celebrates friendship as a creative tool. It connects organizations such as SZ Sugar, a contemporary classical music publishing house, Paint it Black, an independent art-focused bookstore in Turin, and Lorenzo Mason Studio, a multidisciplinary creative practice. Curated by Davide Giannella and Greta Pasini, with set design by SPECIFIC, the exhibition Le Luci e gli amanti—open until May 8—interprets Rauschenberg'sRauschenberg's art as a collective and relational process. The exhibition creates an interplay between design and art, where light and artworks influence each other, generating new perspectives. Five lighting fixtures interact with the artworks through a metallic network that traverses the space, redefining the relationship between light and installations.
On Saturday, April 5, from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM, BiM will host Dance Among Friends, the closing party of Milano Art Week. This city-wide event will celebrate the conclusion of the art week with an evening of music and performances.
